Not only humans

This is something I never thought about. The numbers are astonishing esp. when compared to the numbers of people and epidemics that make us take notice. I’m not trying to make any judgements here about people and animals. This was, for me, an aspect of our world that opened my eyes. Just the kind of window I love opening, or have opened for me.

Saguaro vandalism in Tucson

Saguaros biding their time

Try as I might, these destructive activities just make no sense to me. Why?

I grew up in Tucson, 1975 – 2007. It was a place I fell in Love with, Love st first sight as it were! I became who I am, there. A huge part of that was hiking and camping, living out of the back of my old International Harvester in the foothills. Waking to doves cooing.

There are two Saguaro National Monuments in Tucson. One in the east in the
Rincon mountains. The other in the west, over the other side of the Tucson Mountains.

Though this is terrible, you can look out over the bajada and see the Saguaros on the march in the desert. We may see this as permanent, but their march through the desert attest to their patience. They have Time. All we can do it seems is fight time.

It’s a place I’ll always miss and crawl into when the world gets a bit out of kilter.

Mississippi Gun-Store Owner and Son Die in Shootout with Customers – NBC News

Besides the thought that dead and wounded people are a fair price for a 25$ dispute, (really) unfortunately we may now have the opportunity to see more folks shot as the country is brainwashed into thinking more guns equals more safety and so moves towards greater gun ownership along with concealed carry. And we still require NO PROOF a gun owner has the slightest idea how to shoot a bullseye much less a human.

Obama Is Right, Way More Americans Die in Gun Violence Than in Terrorism

This is in no way an attempt to mollify victims of mass shootings.
The figures on this article are another reality check when discussions about guns come up.
It would appear as a people we are letting fear dominate discussions and possible solutions regarding guns by only focusing on terror killings. The attacks are obviously doing what they are meant to do.
I have no problem with folks owning guns any more than I do drones. But can anyone explain the rationale for having to REGISTER a drone (a process that was put in place in record time) yet I can buy a gun from ANYONE without it being registered by myself or the owner? Not to mention car registrations.

On a tangent: this is exactly the type of issue the powers that be dream about. It’s Divide and Conquer at its best, while the Rich get richer and the little people rant and rage at each other ignoring critical issues that affect their lives.

The airstrikes on Doctors without Borders hospital

Airstrikes on Doctors without Borders hospital

Sometimes it’s hard to find words for heinous events like this. It’s being investigated which I am sure is small consolation to the victims and their families. The horror of this speaks for itself.

What I have to say now is that it blows away the idea of surgical strikes with no collateral damage.

We don’t keep statistics on collateral damage. What we hear is that this new way of fighting means no collateral damage. A good case of the military censoring information under the excuse of not keeping those statistics

Remember, collateral damage is a euphemism for people killed “accidentally”.
