As sergeant Schultz might say on hearing this, We know nothing. Nothing!
And yet here we are with Trump. We all certainly needed a shakeup. But Trump?

Mississippi Gun-Store Owner and Son Die in Shootout with Customers – NBC News

Besides the thought that dead and wounded people are a fair price for a 25$ dispute, (really) unfortunately we may now have the opportunity to see more folks shot as the country is brainwashed into thinking more guns equals more safety and so moves towards greater gun ownership along with concealed carry. And we still require NO PROOF a gun owner has the slightest idea how to shoot a bullseye much less a human.

Stupid is as Stupid does.

Doctor Who gets lengthy sabbatical as showrunner Steven Moffat quits | Ars Technica

Oh NO!!! The best, most fun, and silly and sexy show on TV is taking a break. I am not a TV junkie, FAN, by any stretch. But Dr Who saved me while I was recovering from my bone marrow transplant due to cancer. Besides the folks who have been doctors and their ability to keep me laughing as well as providing a modicum of challenge to my drug addled brain, it provided structure at a time I could not buy a schedule.
Quick note: not a fan of Capaldi yet. It always takes time to adjust to a new Dr. So far, Matt Smith is BEST. Of course when you have Amelia Pond to always save your ass, how can you go wrong?

Oregon standoff: Roseburg state legislator ignores local warnings, visits protesters | OregonLive.com

http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2016/01/oregon_standoff_roseburg_state.html

This whole thing is one of the weirdest things to come down the pike in awhile. These guys make me think I need a firearm to protect myself from them! After all isn’t govt supposed to uphold laws whether they believe in them or not? I think the pick and choose approach is called…what is it again? Right Anarchy! The hypocrisy would be laughable if these folks weren’t serious.

How to Slow Firearm Deaths without Banning All Guns – Scientific American

http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-to-slow-firearm-death-without-banning-all-guns/

The NRA spews so many lies and falsehoods about owning guns, we don’t realize making them safe without taking them away is possible.

To start with we need to realize the NRA is so successful, stoking emotions with all their shameless poltoonery and constitutional idiocy, having thoughtful discourse is broadsided before it’s even begun.

Here’s some thoughtful ideas about making gun ownership safe from one of those mass media, left leaning, socialist rags, Scientific American. SA is one of the longest published magazines on the world.

The War Prayer, by Mark Twain

via The War Prayer, by Mark Twain.

Should have put this in previous post, but I am in a rush to go shopping so I can make chimichangas for a potluck tonight.

This is a very good summation of how we feel about War. It helps me to stay sane when all the world is against Peace.

What The Pope Really Said About Kim Davis | ThinkProgress

via What The Pope Really Said About Kim Davis | ThinkProgress.

I read a quick headline about the Pope saying Conscientious Objection (CO) was a Human Right. I totally agree with that. However I couldn’t find an article that had any substance regarding that aspect of CO. All I could find was articles about Kim Davis. This is not surprising. As a country, we are incredibly militaristic. Since news media supports this ( a heinous dereliction of duty to me) one finds very little info about anything contradicting that tradition. So, once again, we get an issue that will sustain the drama and divert our eyes from the prize. So, I’ll be doing a more thorough cruise through the web to see what I can find. Certainly the traditional media will NOT be the place to look.

As to Kim Davis. I go back and forth about her right to deny licenses to gay couples wanting to get married. That is an issue for me, as for many others. I have never thought gay folks should ever be denied any right granted to others. Basic Human Rights once again and also my own personal belief and experience. What I have to resolve is the seeming paradox of gay folks asking for a religious right from the same institution(s) which have been instrumental for hundreds, if not thousands of years, in persecuting and killing, and scapegoating a whole class of Humans for whatever nefarious purposes they come up with.

In time, I hope to write more, and even perhaps, do my thinking out loud here in case any one happens to be interested.

Again, thanks for following! Whether it’s one or many, it gives me incentive to keep it going.
