This is a bummer! I have always loved the great age of exploration. Shackletons journey is one of the most remarkable ever! Despite all that happenend, not a single person dies! NONE! This amazing even to this day with all the fancy ger we have. And cell phones. Radios. Cameras. They were left in the hashest plae on Earth with no means to communicate to the outside world.
Since the crew was going overland, on the ice, dragging sleds behind them, Hurley was not allowed to take all the pictures, which we on glass plates, therefore heavy and fragile. The process used was the Paget process. He was also the first to take color photos in this setting.
Try as I might, these destructive activities just make no sense to me. Why?
I grew up in Tucson, 1975 – 2007. It was a place I fell in Love with, Love st first sight as it were! I became who I am, there. A huge part of that was hiking and camping, living out of the back of my old International Harvester in the foothills. Waking to doves cooing.
There are two Saguaro National Monuments in Tucson. One in the east in the
Rincon mountains. The other in the west, over the other side of the Tucson Mountains.
Though this is terrible, you can look out over the bajada and see the Saguaros on the march in the desert. We may see this as permanent, but their march through the desert attest to their patience. They have Time. All we can do it seems is fight time.
It’s a place I’ll always miss and crawl into when the world gets a bit out of kilter.
Oh NO!!! The best, most fun, and silly and sexy show on TV is taking a break. I am not a TV junkie, FAN, by any stretch. But Dr Who saved me while I was recovering from my bone marrow transplant due to cancer. Besides the folks who have been doctors and their ability to keep me laughing as well as providing a modicum of challenge to my drug addled brain, it provided structure at a time I could not buy a schedule.
Quick note: not a fan of Capaldi yet. It always takes time to adjust to a new Dr. So far, Matt Smith is BEST. Of course when you have Amelia Pond to always save your ass, how can you go wrong?
Have a great day. And if your on the east coast, love the snow!!!

Beautiful though to small and short video of Saturn. It’s pretty cool, the project to take regular photos of the outer planets.
And so now we start to make visible the history of a small part of space.
And now for something far more interesting all this political crap
I am a big believer in space exploration. Ever since I ordered a cardboard rocket that slid down a strong I the early sixties from there to here has been fascinating. The search for knowledge and understanding for it’s own sake is a purity of mission we can all be thankful for and awed by in it’s success.
